The lithium battery can last 4-5 years with the power cord unplugged. Lithium batteries are not used when the rice cooker is plugged to the outlet. Even if the display says 0:00, the rice cooker is still functional when plugged in however, to continue to use the product please adjust the clock setting to the current time.
